Company History

Recycle Myanmar is an organization which is trying to create a modern waste management infrastructure based on internet and mobile communication network.

Just a Volunteer

Recycle Myanmar’s founder, Pon Nya, volunteered in a charity organization called “Compassion Hands Network – Pyay”. That organization helps the children who has drop out of the school and lived in and on the street.

He invented “The Recycle Donation Bin” in order to raise fund for Organization. He and his team placed the bins around Pyay. They collected recyclable from the bins and sold them to the market for organization’s funding. It’s differed from the other. As a result, they saved not only the children, but also the environment.

Founded a Social Enterprise

He founded a social enterprise in order to scale his activities to the nation-wide level in Myanmar. He just focused on recycling at the beginning stage. Then he turned not only recycling, but also waste management and circular economy after he’d got an advice from Daw Aung San Su Kyi.

Built the Platforms

He built the platforms that create the opportunities for the users and pickers in recycling and waste management. Recycle Myanmar, it provides connections for all stakeholders through their mobile communications. That will strengthen circular economy approached by “waste to wealth” as well as “trash to cash.”
“I hope Recycle Myanmar will be an inspiration for other start-ups who want to help address development challenges affecting the environment and climate change in Myanmar”.
